Welcome to my photography blog site. My passion for photography leads me to new places and allows me to meet new people who will occasionally sit for a portrait. I will use this site to post information and comments on my imagery and interactions with models and other photographers.
And, I will also use this site to discuss information on new equipment, software, and image processing. Digital imagery continues to evolve at such a rapid pace that a photographer has to work harder to keep up with the momentum of progress. I welcome new information on both digital and film photography. I haven't given up on film and plan to continue using my large format camera in addition to my digital cameras. My galleries consist of film and digital imagery.
My youngest, and one of my best models is Renee Sly. Renee is at home in front of the camera and is a pleasure to photograph. She comes to a shoot already prepared with creative poses. And, when I give her directions for a pose, she knows exactly what I'm looking for and is ready to be photographed faster than I can get my camera ready to take the shot. You can see images of Renee in my gallery of portraits. Also, her parents, Bob and Donna Sly, have posted Renee's biography along with some of my images on the web. See the following web site: http://www.imdb.com/name/nm4465614/mediaindex
Renee is also an actress and made her debut in the movie, Red LIne by Robert Kirbyson. This movie was featured in the San Diego film festival that ran on September 26 -30, 2012. The trailer for the film can be viewed at the following location: http://sdff.festivalgenius.com/2012/films/redline_sdff2012
Congratulations to Renee on her first movie. Hopefully, there will be more.
In July 2010 I gave a workshop for the Southern California Association of Marine Invertebrate Taxonomists (SCAMIT). This workshop included a discussion of tools for macro photography, editing and preparing images for display, and focus stacking. These topics were summarized and put into pdf files that are now available on this website (danituarte.zenfolio.com). At the top of this page are menu selections. The last one on the far right is "SCAMIT Workshop 2." It has a drop down menu with four pdf files for the topics discussed in the second SCAMIT imagery workshop. The Macro Tools section is divided into two pdf files for faster downloading. It takes a while for the files to load into a new window.
